  • Norwich Western Link Consultation – closes 3rd July

    From Norfolk County Council

    Re: Norwich Western Link

You might remember that we wrote to you in January 2018 about the Norwich Western Link, which the council has identified as one of its top infrastructure priorities.

Since then, the final section of the Northern Distributor Road, or Broadland Northway, has opened which is significantly shortening journey times for many people as well as changing the way people travel around the greater Norwich area.

Hopefully you will also be aware that we are currently in the middle of an eight week public consultation about the Norwich Western Link, asking people about their experiences of travelling through the area to the west of Norwich and what, if anything, they think we should do to tackle any transport issues that exist.

The consultation closes at midnight on Tuesday 3 July and, if you haven’t done so already, I would urge you to make your views known and respond to the consultation via www.norfolk.gov.uk/nwl before it closes.  It should take less than 10 minutes to complete the consultation questionnaire and it’s very important we get as many responses as possible, from a wide range of people, so that we can factor these insights and opinions into our decision-making.

Please note, at this stage we are not proposing any options – we are gathering evidence to come up with what we hope will be the most effective proposals.  At the point that we have any proposals, we will carry out further consultation on these.

We understand you may have questions about the consultation and possible next steps. Therefore, we would be happy to meet with you in person to brief you about the Norwich Western Link project and the consultation, answer any questions you might have and discuss your needs and priorities.  If this is something you’re interested in, please email the team at norwichwesternlink@norfolk.gov.uk and we will make arrangements.

We look forward to hearing from you.

  • Tibenham Think Carers – 22nd March at 10am

Please come if you can and help us explore what communities can do given the right incentives and professional support.

The intention is to focus on what we, as a small rural community, can do to help ourselves as well as each other. We shall be looking at what we may have achieved since our similar event last year and what more could be done.

Specifically we want to understand how services have changed, who our best contacts are and how to make good use of the resources on offer. That goes hand in hand with asking local people what their particular concerns may be.
