Welcome to the Tibenham Parish Council website.  This website provides information on the Parish Council’s activities and aims to ensure our residents are informed as fully as possible about our functions, decisions and actions.

Tibenham is a small, friendly community of just under 500 people in the heart of rural South Norfolk, approximately seven miles north of the market town of Diss.

The unusually imposing tower of All Saints’ Church is a distinctive landmark, and visitors will see a number of interesting features in the interior. See www.norfolkchurches.co.uk.

Tibenham War MemorialWe have recently had the war memorial in the churchyard cleaned – for more information go to our News page.

We are fortunate in Tibenham to still have a welcoming pub in the middle of the village, when so many villages in the area have lost theirs: The Greyhound has a good stock of drinks, log fires in the winter, and food at certain times of the week. For more information, go to www.thetibenham-greyhound.co.uk.

Many people have heard of Tibenham because of its well-known airfield, which saw action in both world wars, notably when it was home to the US Air Force 445th Bombardment Group during WWII.  Actor James Stewart led one of the squadrons before he was transferred to nearby Old Buckenham.  Today it is the home of the Norfolk Gliding Club: for information, see www.norfolkglidingclub.com.

A more recent addition to the facilities that Tibenham offers is Tibenham Community Hall, on Pristow Green Lane. This is a great venue which can be hired for private functions, as well as hosting of a range of regular and occasional sports and social events, details of which can be seen at www.tibenhamcommunityhall.org.
